HYPASTART is the Durst supercapacitor jump starter: designed and made in Australia, with no battery inside. It stores its starting energy in banks of supercapacitors, so it cannot gas, catch fire or explode, it works from -40°C to +70°C, and it is ready to go after 12 months on a shelf. After starting one vehicle it draws charge back from the alternator in about a minute and is ready for the next, all day, without a wall charger.
There is a HYPASTART for every size of engine, from a 12V workshop unit to 24V mining machinery with engines over 80 litres:
- HYPA-X2500: the 12/24V all-rounder for workshops, fleets, trucks and buses. Also the base for the 12V-only Auto model.
- HYPA-X2500-24: 24V only, for truck and transport fleets.
- HYPA-X2500MS-CAT: 12/24V with a CAT receptacle for mining equipment, trucks and buses up to about 30 litres.
- HYPA-X2500MS-600: the 24V hybrid with two LiFePO4 backup batteries for sites that need stored power as well as starting power.
- HYPA-X4500MS: 12/24V for mining-grade vehicles up to 80 litres (CAT 793D, Komatsu 830E).
- HYPA-X6500MS: 24V for the largest mining vehicles, 80 litres and above (CAT 994F loaders).
- HYPASTART X500: the personal 12V unit for cars, 4WDs and touring.
Every unit has anti-spark and anti-spike protection, reverse-polarity protection, a self-resetting ignition-protected fuse, a built-in volt meter and a powder-coated aluminium enclosure built Durst tough. Lead sets in 1.5 m and 3 m, Anderson or CAT, are in Cables - Heavy Duty. Proven on CAT 777 and C27 engines and in use across mining, transport, defence, rail and marine fleets.
