Mounting Temp Guard away from your batteries? The remote ambient sensor sits in the battery area, so
Temp Guard compares each battery with the air it actually sits in.
Temp Guard compares each battery with the air around it. The main unit has a built-in ambient sensor for
that, which is perfect when it sits with your batteries. When it can't, this sensor goes where the batteries
are.
When you'd add it
When the main unit has to sit somewhere warmer or cooler than the batteries. The most common case is a
battery under the bonnet. The engine bay gets hot and wet, so the main unit goes in the cabin and this
sealed sensor goes near the battery. Without it, Temp Guard would compare an under-bonnet battery with
an air-conditioned cabin, and could set off a false alarm. Batteries in two places? Fit it by the hotter one,
usually the one under the bonnet.
Compatibility
Works with all Temp Guard kits: Standard (TG-100), Multi-Sensor (TG-100-MSP) and Remote Alarm
(TG-100-RAP). It comes in the Multi-Sensor kit, so you only need to add it to Standard or Remote Alarm.
